Wedded Bliss: Amber Gale, Richard Griffin Jr. of Westland

These newlyweds were married on Oct. 11, 2014 at El Bethel Church in Redford. 

Amber is a freelance actress and the programs administrator at the Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit. Richard is a relationship banker at JPMorgan Chase Bank in Dearborn Heights. The couple lives in Westland and took a spontaneous trip to Miami for their honeymoon. Here, Amber shares special details from their October wedding.

The dress

“I asked my husband what he wanted his bride to look like, and I kept that in mind while shopping. My winning dress was a beautiful beaded, soft white, trumpet-style gown from the David’s Bridal LUXE collection. It went great with our Great Gatsby theme.”

The flowers

The cake

“Kathy’s Designer Cakes in Redford made us a beautiful three-tier cake. The groom selected the design, and she nailed it. It was chocolate and yellow cake.”

The rings

“We got our rings from a private jeweler and Rogers & Hollands in Livonia. Both rings express our personalities for sure. People always ask, ‘Did he pick out your rings by himself?’ The answer is yes! He did an excellent job.”

The entertainment

“Our music was provided by a friend of Richard’s, DJ Ray from WJLB-and we also had our hostesses double as flapper girls for our Great Gatsby-themed extravaganza. They performed a surprise dance to Fergie and will.i.am’s ‘A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)’ from the Gatsby movie soundtrack.”
