Usher is Snapchatting his way around Eastern Market

May 17, 2016·By BLAC Editorial

Everything looks like the “My Way” video if you think about it.

May 17, 2016

So, Usher is in town for the Ford Freedom Award banquet tonight, where he’ll be presenting (but not performing – at least, not yet! Anything can happen…) an honor befitting the night’s theme, Men of Courage. Former Mayor Dave Bing and author and prison-reform advocate Shaka Senghor are among the honorees.

But before tonight’s gala, Usher is taking in some sights around Motown. We think he’s got a little crush on Detroit’s street art, seeing as his Snapchat blew up this morning with snaps of the displays all around Eastern Market.

Maybe the colorful whimsy of it all reminded him of his “My Way” video from back in the day. You know you remember this:

Usher also name-checked Chicago street artist Hebru Brantley and paid a quick visit to Tommey Walker’s Detroit vs. Everybody shop – but they might have been closed this early. We won’t be surprised if he’s rocking some D-vs-E swag in the future, though. Check out the rest of his snaps below.

We’ll forgive the “Detriot” typos because for a guy who frequently spells “you” as “U” – “U Don’t Have to Call,” “U Got it Bad,” “U Remind Me” – it’s cool.
