Here’s an Eventbrite link from Duggan for Detroit, which we all know is the fundraising arm of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan's first election. Vague on details, the invite is extended to those who want to “join Mayor Mike Duggan for a 2017 announcement.”
The date is February 4, but the location will be emailed on January 25 to those who sign up. There are no further details, but we already know what it is: A very likely announcement that Duggan is running for re-election.
If Duggan does announce his re-election plans (spoiler: he will), he joins two other candidates that have recently filed to run: Myya Jones, a senior at Michigan State University, and Jeffery Robinson.
When Jones announced her plans, a spokesperson for Duggan told BLAC that his staff was still trying to decide how to respond to any questions about whether Duggan was running for re-election. To us, that means "he's not saying no." But we’ll keep you posted.
Every question deserves a better answer than a search result — here's where this story leads.
