No matter if you’ve got 20 minutes or all the me time in the world, The TEN has a service just for you. The modern nail salon offers a variety of service packages depending on your schedule, from your standard manis and pedis through to hydrating masks, sugar scrubs, hot towel wraps and more. The TEN also provides brow and face waxing.

The bar has been at 1215 Griswold St. downtown since 2016, but co-founders Kelli Coleman and Anika Jackson say they have the best problem you can have as business owners – too much demand. So, they’re preparing for a second location in the New Center area.

Expect the same #perfect10 nail care at the new locale plus full body waxing, a new menu item. As two black women with a business in Detroit, Coleman and Jackson think it’s important to not only be involved in the redevelopment of Detroit but to also contribute.

“There was a time where black business was a hallmark to Detroit,” Coleman says. The ladies want to remind that Detroit, particularly black Detroit, is still a contender, and that The TEN will definitely be a part of this “renaissance.”

The ribbon gets cut at the New Center salon at 6541 Woodward Ave. in Detroit on May 17. The women say it’ll be an expansion of the principles of women’s empowerment and a safe haven for self-care.
