The Bridge temporarily closes, plots April move and re-opening

The popular soul food and brunch spot is looking for a new home.

The Bridge, a popular black-owned soul food and brunch restaurant on Detroit’s Gold Coast, is closed temporarily and is looking to relocate, its owner tells BLAC.
But fear not, as an April re-opening is in the works. The restaurant has not decided where to relocate, but will keep diners posted.
Opened in 2015, The Bridge was a welcome addition to Detroit’s soul food scene alongside They Say, Steve’s Soul Food and a revamped Southern Fires all nearby, particularly among east-side diners. It also became a popular destination for nightlife, operating until 1 a.m.
But in recent months, the restaurant cut its days of operation from five days a week to twice a week, mainly concentrating on its Sunday brunch. No word on if a revamped version of the restaurant will also increase its days of operation.
