During the time of COVID-19, finding the right tools to navigate a socially distant and safe bridal shower can be difficult. The good news is that Tender Moments, LLC, a Detroit-based event planning and design company, is available to offer virtual advice for brides and grooms. Starting Oct. 15, Tender Moments will present a three-day virtual experience of their annual From Yes to I Do Bridal Show

Tender Moments owner April Cobb says they’ll talk about planning virtual bridal showers, play games and more. Also experience a virtual fashion show, tours of For the Love of Sugar bake shop and Busted Bra Shop in Jefferson-Chalmers and speed dating-inspired Zoom session with 20 different vendors.

Cobb says, “I didn’t think anyone would come on and watch a presentation for an hour and a half straight from all these different vendors, so we’re setting it up like a speed date. We’re calling it a vendor’s speed date. So, essentially, participants will be divided into the room, and we’ll have roughly the same amount of rooms as vendors. The vendors would move from room to room.”

The theme is “Planning a Wedding in a Pandemic,” using Zoom, Facebook Live and YouTube Live. Cobbs says, like many businesses and owners during this time, she had to pivot in a short amount of time. “I was going to just cancel it,” she says.

“It hit me to go ahead and try this virtual experience on the first of August. I think maybe we had about six weeks to plan this. Everyone thinks virtual is easy, but there are so many parts. That’s why we recorded the fashion show in September.”

The virtual experience itinerary is as follows:

Thursday

7:30-9:30 p.m.

  • Zoom happy hour
  • Speed date with vendors
  • Tips on socially distant bridal showers

Friday

4-6 p.m.

  • Virtual tour of For the Love of Sugar
  • Wedding stationary design workshop

Saturday

10 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Facebook Live and YouTube Live fashion show
  • Virtual tour of Busted Bra Shop
  • Panel discussion

The event is sponsored by Eva’s Bridal & Fashions in Garden City and will include exclusive giveaways to registered attendees. Registered brides and grooms will receive an electronic copy of Cobb’s 2020-2021 Wedding Resource Directory, an all-access pass to the Facebook group virtual bridal suite, and eligibility to win contests and prizes.

Purchase a VIP ticket, which includes a survival kit with organizing tools, bridal necessities and a bedazzled face mask. Cobbs says, “It’s hard to get out and network, and meet with all these people now. So, this offers you (the opportunity) to build your wedding dream team right in the comfort of your home.”
