acebook and Yelp ratings are plummeting for BluFin Sushi in Grosse Pointe Farms after a group of black women say they were mistreated while at the restaurant. The Facebook Live video of the incident’s aftermath set off a social media firestorm calling for a boycott of the restaurant and prompting BluFin to temporarily close its doors on Sunday and delete its Facebook page.
While the fate of BluFin is up in the air, we compiled a list of 10 other sushi restaurants to satisfy your raw fish cravings.
Social Sushi
This black-owned sushi pop-up, that focuses on community collaboration and conversation, is gearing up to open doors to their own space this year on Livernois. In the meantime, you can catch them popping up at various bars around the city.

Located on the ground floor of the Park Shelton in Detroit, Wasabi serves sushi and other traditional Korean and Japanese entrees.

You can find this restaurant’s sushi at Plum Market stores in addition to their restaurant in Troy. Mon Jin Lau has received praise as best sushi in Oakland County by Metro Times in 2016.
