Students in Oak Park can now get free health services

A unique school-hospital partnership will offer medical, dental and mental health services.

Through a joint partnership, St. John Providence and the Oak Park School District will launch a health center at Oak Park High School, providing free health services to all students currently enrolled in the district.
Students will have the opportunity to have various medical needs met, including medical, dental, optical and mental health.
“A healthy mind and body are necessary to ensure students can focus on learning," Oak Park schools superintendent Daveda Colbert says. "As a result of our own partnership with St. John Providence, wraparound services are now available onsite.”
Oak Park High School is now among one of the few districts in Southeastern Michigan to have a school-based health center. This onsite service will provide students who may not be able to afford health services with a safe and clean space.
The grand opening will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 9 in the Oak Park High School Auditorium, 13701 Oak Park Boulelvard. To RSVP for the grand opening, email LaTonya Jetter at latonya.jetter@stjohn.org or call 248-849-5692.
