Nominees for 2022 VMAs Released

The nominees for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (2022 VMAs) has been released, and public voting for the award’s winners has been opened. Lil Nas X, Kendrick Lamar, and Jack Harlow leads the awards with seven nominations. Following the list are Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six nominations. Up until August 28, 2022, you can start casting 10 votes per category per day for your favorite artists nominated for this year’s VMAs at the voting website.

Catch the celebration of “the best music videos of the past year and features unforgettable performances, tributes and appearances from the biggest stars in music” at the 2022 VMAs this Sunday, August 28, 2022 8 p.m. which will air live from the New Jersey’s Prudential Center.

Here are the nominees for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year: the three most anticipated awards.

MTV will honor artists over 24 categories. Eighteen of the awards will be decided by public vote: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Group of the Year, Best New Artist, PUSH Performance of the Year, Best Collaboration, Video for Good, Best Metaverse Performance, Best Longform Video, Song of Summer, and a best song in seven genres. Meanwhile, six awards which will be decided by merit: cinematography, direction, art direction, visual effects, choreography, and editing.
