I run into a lot of people who have the desire to live healthier but just don't know what to do," says Audrina Ross, owner and CEO of Naturalista Life, LLC. So, she's planning an expo at Cobo Center on March 24.

Started in 2011, Naturalista Life's mission is to help people in urban communities lead happier, healthier lives. The upcoming Naturalista Life Expo is the first for the org and will feature plant-based nutrition, fitness and beauty panels, along with workshops, speaker sessions and vendors. Actress, longtime vegan and naturalist Kimberly Elise will sit on the nutrition panel and sell her line of hair care products, Kimberly Elise Naturals.

Ross thinks the push toward natural is beneficial for people of color and those in urban settings who face added challenges like the oversaturation of fast food joints and "you buy, we fry" setups. "All these different places are meant to make it easy and convenient to live unhealthy. A lot of the diseases that plague our community could be reversed – if not avoided – through diet."
