Must See: 

Wynwood Walls of Murals is the outdoor museum that has brought the world’s greatest artists working in the graffiti and street art genre to Miami. Just minutes from Downtown Miami near Midtown and the Miami Design District, this thriving neighborhood centers around the Wynwood Walls. A collection of giant wall murals covering six buildings, the Wynwood Walls has since become a blank canvas for famed artists from across the globe.

Must Eat:

Now! That’s a Wrap Grille is a family-owned eatery where you can eat good and inexpensive food while supporting a Black business. Located in Overtown — one of the oldest, predominantly Black neighborhoods in Miami — Now! That’s a Wrap is a modern sandwich café with traditional flavorful items like fried chicken wraps, buffalo wings and salmon bites. Make sure to grab some sandwiches from here before your flight home.

Must Visit:

Hallandale YMCA at Hallandale Beach is a perfect escape from the massive crowds that take over South Beach. To experience Greater Fort Lauderdale in all its beachside glory, Hallandale Beach is a sure bet. The YMCA sets right off the water and includes all of the amenities that other YMCAs boast — but this one has an ocean view.

Must Stay:

Stay at the Dunn’s Josephine Hotel in Overtown — one of the oldest, historically Black neighborhoods in Miami. Owned by Kristin Kitchen and Metris Batts of Sojourn Heritage Hotels, this Black-owned bed and breakfast shares a love for the Harlem Renaissance with each room decked out in visual remembrances of the era’s greats. You will surely love the Nichols Brothers room with two, queen-size beds.

Must Drive:
