On Saturday, June 4, join Emagine Entertainment for a unique sensory-friendly screening of “Downton Abbey: A New Era.” This special program is designed to ensure an enjoyable experience for individuals with sensory needs and their supporters. The movie theater will have specific modifications made to the environment, including lowered sound and lighting levels, and elimination of all advertising and previews. This is a great opportunity for families, children, and teens with sensory needs to enjoy a movie in a safe and comfortable setting.
What is a sensory experience?
A sensory experience is an event that triggers one or more of the senses. It can be something that you see, hear, smell, taste, touch, or feel. Sensory experiences are often used in therapy to help people with sensory processing disorders (SPD) and other conditions.
What does sensory friendly mean?
First, it means sensory friendly experience: lights up a bit, sound down a bit; and there are no modifications made to the film.
Second, if your child needs to get up, move, dance, sing. No problem.
Third, guests are welcome to bring a safe snack for any food allergies, avoidance and restrictions.

From award-winning creator, Julian Fellowes comes the motion picture event “Downton Abbey: A New Era.” The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa. This film is rated PG.
