Apropos is a Detroit singer-songwriter and international recording artist who has appeared on NBC’s The Voice and been featured on Pitchfork, Complex, Billboard, StockX, NPR and more.

Today, July 28THApropos released the official music video for his new song Spiritual Surgery. Co-written and produced by Grammy nominated songwriter, film and TV composer, and multi-instrumentalist Dave Wilder, Spiritual Surgery is the new first new solo single from Apropos since.  The music video is directed, edited and produced by Sidd Finch of Humans & Co.

Spiritual Surgery is Apropos’ first completely independent project released through Apropos Entertainment. The song is available now on all streaming platforms. You can watch the official music video for Spiritual Surgery at

“Spiritual Surgery is about me crying out for help,” said Apropos. “I wrote this song when I was in a dark place before the pandemic. I was depressed about what was happening with my career. It felt like lot of doors were closing. The same way people need medical procedures to fix their bodies, I needed Spiritual Surgery to fix my soul.”

Spiritual Surgery is dedicated to Apropos’ late friend, mentor and collaborator Allee Willis, who co-wrote legendary hits like Earth, Wind & Fire’s September and the Friends theme song I’ll Be There For You.

Apropos has multiple projects planned for the remainder of 2022. Learn more at www.veryapropos.com.
