Detroit Luxe Picnic’s is bringing fairytale fantasy picnic’s to a Metro Detroit park near you this summer and beyond.
Each picnic includes tables, rugs, tableware, silverware, playing cards, pillows, a customized sign with a message of your choice, candles, fresh flowers and table garland. They also offer add ons like charcuterie boards, games, a polaroid camera, wine and more! On their website Detroit Lux Picnic’s offers picnic accommodations for 10. Parties with guests of more than 10 would need to put in a special request. Prices vary by guest size.
Christan Johnson, owner of Detroit Luxe Picnic grew up going to Belle Isle creating memories there with picnic’s, family reunions and school field trips. She kept the feeling close to her heart throughout her life. After graduating from Columbia College of Chicago with a degree in Retail Management she thrived in design and creativity. While looking for inspiration for another business she owns she stumbled across a beautiful Pinterest picnic display and something clicked. She discussed it with her loved ones and decided to start this summer and register her LLC. She says, “I am putting all my effort into it and I am definitely seeing the results.”
Detroit Luxe Picnic themes include:
Black Chic with all black decor with hints of gold,
Golden Neutral which is a mix of gold, tan and cream decor
Bohemian Color Pop that offers gold, tan, pink, turquoise and yellow decor.
Blue hues that cascade multiple shades of blue with hints of gold decor.
Pretty in pink that offers shades of pink with hints of gold decor.
Johnson’s mission is to honor love, intimacy and healthy relationships through spending quality time together in the experience she creates. She says, “I want people to be in awe, I want to normalize luxury and romance, within yourself, with your friends or your partner.”
Detroit Luxe Picnic will be here throughout the summer and Johnson is currently working on ways to innovate her idea throughout the winter months. As of now the earliest a picnic can start is 9am and the latest a picnic can start is 8pm because parks usually close at 10pm.
