Ciara Princess Wilson has launched her own skin care brand OAM Skin, short for “On A Mission.” She has teamed up with three female scientists, and all four women are on a mission “to create a simple routine for all skin tones,” she wrote on her brand’s website. The brand seeks to fill the product void many beauty conglomerates have failed to provide: products that are accessible for all skin types.

Joining Ciara on her mission are women who share her passion to make a product line that works for everyone. In an Instagram post, she introduced Dermatologist Dr. Tiffany Libby; her long-time makeup artist, Yolanda Frederick; and MIT Chemical Engineer Jamira Johnson.

In an interview with People magazine, Ciara said she and Frederick were struggling to find the right skin care routine for her. That inspired her to come up with something simple that will work across different skin. “Clinical testing is something that really differentiates us in the market,” she told AfroTech. “We tested our products on 96 women of every tone on the entire Fitzpatrick Scale. This is truly missing in skincare today.”

Her “Radiance System” is composed of five products that are designed to be used together for the best results. It includes a hydrating cleanser, brightening pads, serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. All of the products are infused with vitamin C, an antioxidant known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

“I really think we’ve created something that is missing in the skincare industry with OAM,” Ciara said. “In my personal journey, I found skincare to be confusing — there were so many products. I found clinical-level products worked wonders for my skin, but it was so complicated. I knew I couldn’t be the only person struggling with this and made it my mission to make clinical skincare simple and to bring awareness to the power of clinical formulations.”
