This week has been exhausting for all of us, especially those of us that consider ourselves strong black women. But let’s put that myth to rest, for some that’s simply not always true, consequently, strong Black women disproportionately experience anxiety and depression from being strong. This weekend we want you to take care of your emotional and physical health which can increase concentration and memory and allow for a healthier immune system, reduced stress, improved mood and sexual experiences.
We’ve actually created the remedy for exhaustion; one part ‘Nice and Smooth’ playlist over the second part; a specialty blend of Black-owned cocktails from our BLAC Happy Hour menu and the third part, while reading about what strong Black women are doing in the world.

Viola Davis Shares Poster for Upcoming Role In ‘The Woman King’ and trailer drops
Viola Davis drops the first poster image and studio drops the trailer for her latest film project; The Woman King. In this film Viola Davis tackles her first Afrocentric, action hero, lead role in this new movie. Directed and co-written by Gina Prince-Bythewood, “The Woman King” is inspired by the recorded history of the Kingdom of Dahomey. It was one of the most influential and powerful civilizations in 18th to 19th century Africa.
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired the first Black female team president in the NFL
The Las Vegas Raiders has hired the first Black, female team president in NFL’s history. Sandra Douglass Morgan’s hiring is an important milestone for the Raiders and the NFL. It’s a move that helps break barriers, brings progress through diverse perspectives. Morgan is a Las Vegas native. She was educated in Eldorado High School, the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Denzel Washington Tests Positive for COVID, Forced to Miss White House Awards Ceremony
Denzel Washington tested positive for COVID-19, and he missed the Presidential Medal of Freedom conferment ceremonies. Named one among the 17 who President Biden has acknowledged for the highest civilian honor of the United States, Washington was not in attendance at that ceremony held at the White House. “Denzel tested positive for COVID and so he was unfortunately unable to attend the Medal of Freedom award ceremony,” Denzel’s representative told the media. Washington is reportedly feeling well, and has shown no adverse symptoms of COVID-19. “A man who couldn’t be here today but wanted to be,” President Biden described Denzel during the ceremony. He also confirmed that the actor will receive the medal at a later date.
Carlos Santana Collapses During Michigan Concert
Due to exhaustion and dehydration, the guitar-legend Carlos Santana collapsed just 20-minutes into a concert in Michigan. The musician has since recovered, says his manager Michael Vrionis. As part of his “Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour,” Santana was performing onstage at the Pine Knob Music Theater, an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkson, Michigan. In several videos circulating online, medical personnel and several of the concert crew can be seen attending to the musician shortly after he passed out at around 10 p.m. Tuesday night. He was brought to the nearby McLaren Clarkston emergency room for observation. According to Vrionis, the musical legend has been feeling better, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Rihanna is now worth $1.4 billion–making her America’s youngest self-made billionaire woman
The youngest self-made billionaire in America isn’t on Wall Street, and didn’t grow up on Hollywood Boulevard. Instead, she amassed her fortune from music and entrepreneurial ventures — which have made the 34 year old singer and entrepreneurial mammoth worth $1.4 billion dollars. Some of Rihanna’s $1.4 billion net worth is from her successful music career, while some of her fortune comes from her many endorsement deals; after all she is the face of brands like Puma, Dior, and CoverGirl. And in 2019, she earned the prestige of being one of the few women who have created a successful, original luxury brand with Moët Hennessy (LVMH) — alongside Dior, Givenchy, Celine, and Fendi. Unsurprisingly, most of Rihanna’s fortune is from her entrepreneurial ventures: Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin and Savage X Fenty.
