Art Mile, A Week-Long Citywide Digital Art Exhibition, is in Full Swing

In an effort to spur continued engagement with creative communities and support artists during this particularly peculiar time, Reyes|Finn, Cultural Counsel with the support of Red Bull Arts has organized Art Mile, a week-long citywide digital art exhibition in Detroit. 

Works from over 60 of Detroit’s galleries, nonprofits and art-run spaces are on display, along with planned public programs, live panel discussions, film screenings, artwork sales and more through Aug. 5. Wasserman Projects, Soul Studio, Norwest Gallery, 333 Midland and many others have joined the project. 

“Art Mile aims to continue our city’s long tradition of banding together in resilience, recovery and collective dreaming, whether in period of economic crisis or prosperity,” says founding partner Terese Reyes. “Detroit’s arts community has become the heart of a city bursting with creativity – that’s something worth protecting.”

Art Mile will also launch a fundraising campaign for three local nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing Detroit youth with access to visual, performing and literary arts education: 482Forward, Inside Out Detroit and Living Arts. Founding partner Bridget Finn says these orgs “use the arts as a strategic tool to ignite creativity, empower the voices of Detroit’s youth, and drive the city toward social justice.”
