A Star Is “Not” Being Born

eyonce confirmed that she will not be playing the lead role in Clint Eastwood’s remake of “A Star Is Born.”

"I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood," she said in a statement. "For months, we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life, but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together." 

Yeah, okay. Well, rumors are flying and many think it was the jab Eastwood threw at President Obama with that empty chair interview that caused her to back away.

Remember Bey and Jay just threw a $40,000-per-person fundraiser at the 40/40 Club for the President. To the 100 people that joined them, Bey said, "I can't tell you how proud we are to host tonight's event with President Obama, we believe in his vision."

Bey is "ride or die;" Clint who? Well, then again, she could be pregnant-in which case, "A Star Is Being Born." Awww. 

Bobbi Kris?

n extended clip has been posted of the new reality show, "The Houstons: On Our Own." While I don’t see confirmation of an engagement, it is definitely confirmed that Bobbi Kris and Nick Gordon are a couple.

More important is the relationship/disconnect between Bobbi Kris and her grandmother. Add that to what looks like excessive partying with unlimited income and it totals trouble. Maybe this show was set to act as some sort of therapy for the family but I’m thinking there has to be a better way. I guess it’s true, everybody grieves differently.

Former Detroit Lions Defensive Tackle Alex Karras Passed Away

f you weren’t in tune with his all-pro football career, you will certainly remember him as George Papadapolis on the hit show "Webster." Karras, along with his real-life wife, actress Susan Clark, played the adoptive parents of Emmanuel Lewis’ character, Webster, from 1983-89.

However, long before that show, he was a first round draft pick in the 1958 NFL draft. He played with the Detroit Lions from 1958-70. Karras was a four-time Pro Bowler 1959-61 and 1965. Recently, 77-year-old Karras had been given just days to live due to kidney failure.

During the past years, he had battled dementia, heart disease, stomach cancer and kidney disease. All of which, his wife says, were due to his NFL career. "This physical beating that he took as a football player has impacted his life, and therefore it has impacted his family life," Clark said earlier this year.

She and Karras were among those who filed suit nearly six months ago in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia. ''He is interested in making the game of football safer and hoping that other families of retired players will have a healthier and happier retirement.” Please keep the family in your prayers.
