The Story

Philadelphia-born and Florida-trained at IMG Academy, Ginger Howard turned professional at 17 — the youngest African American woman to do so — after becoming the first Black golfer named to a U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team in 2010. She declined offers from Duke and Florida State to chase the tour. She spent seven seasons on the Symetra Tour, earned conditional LPGA Tour status for 2016, and returned from injury to win on the Women's All Pro Tour in 2021.
