Social Club Grooming Company Elevates the Neighborhood Barbershop
The newest spot, headed by husband-and-wife owners, sits inside The Siren Hotel and offers great haircuts and engages with the community.

When the Social Club Grooming Company first opened on the campus of Wayne State University in 2012, it was something of a novelty – a barbershop with a unique feel in Midtown.
Now, the business has expanded to include a location inside downtown’s Siren Hotel. Husband-and-wife owners Sebastian and Gabrielle Jackson are expanding the Social Club Grooming Company brand by creating what they call a “quintessential third space.”
By staying “true to the relevance of the barbershop,” Gabrielle says, they are able to engage the community through Shop Talk, a digital platform, providing “access to global leaders while providing them with insider information.”
So, in a way, the Social Club is more than the average barbershop. They encourage reservations to save time, which can be done through their website or app. “This ensures that you can come in, get a great haircut and go on with your day,” Gabrielle says.
She adds: “But if you would like to hang out, our space is always open for that as well. We have many clients that come in early to get work done, or stay after their haircut to partake in the conversation.”
