The Business
The smell inside Makeda’s is intoxicating. Sugar, butter, love—whatever it is, bottle it up! Owner Pamela Hill named the cookie business after her niece, who was a St. Jude patient. (Sadly, she passed away from leukemia in 1997 when she was only six years old.) Makeda’s is known for their butter cookies, but you can also find chocolate chip and other flavors in regular and mini sizes. Mixing and matching is encouraged. Also, don’t leave without trying an ice cream sandwich.
