The Detroit Youth Choir will be getting a touch of Disney magic next year. Premiering on Disney + on January 31st, the docuseries Choir will follow the DYC as they prepare for an important performance. The 6-episode program will not only showcase the time, energy, and dedication that they put in day in and day out, but also explore the experience of the choir members growing up in Detroit being young, gifted, and Black. The show will also focus on the choir director Anthony White as he navigates post-AGT fame and finds new ways to stay in the public eye.

The DCY was first introduced to the world outside of Detroit through the NBC show America’s Got Talent. Where week after week they proved themselves to be one of the best acts of the season, ultimately ending the competition as the runner-up. Since then, they’ve become Michigan’s favorite act. Performing at some of the biggest events in Detroit and expanding their fame and prestige.
