The D Loft Commercial Kitchen Brings Food Entrepreneurs Together On Detroit’s Westside

There is a new spot opening on Detroit’s Westside for budding culinary entrepreneurs to find their groove and it goes by the name “The D Loft”.

The D Loft Commercial Kitchen, which is one of the first ghost kitchens to open in the state, gives aspiring food entrepreneurs a place to test an idea or call home at an affordable rate. The facility offers 24-7 availability for food professionals. 

What’s a Ghost Kitchen?

Ghost kitchens are a trend that’s gaining popularity in urban areas. They provide a place for food entrepreneurs to test their ideas and get feedback on them from other chefs and food industry professionals. The D Loft Commercial Kitchen is one of the first ghost kitchens to open in Michigan, joining others around the country including Baltimore, New York City and Los Angeles.

The celebration, scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, will showcase the 1500-square-foot facility, as well as local food vendors and food trucks. 

The D Loft will be instrumental to the growth of Detroit’s food scene. In addition to providing a space for commercial kitchen use, the D-Loft will offer educational programming, workshops and events. It will also serve as a hub for food makers in Southeast Michigan.
