Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design Launches Cars + Kicks Masterclass Open Application Enrollment

In partnership with Chevrolet, Pensole Lewis College announced the Cars + Kicks Masterclass open enrollment for students who want to be challenged to create designs in both sneakers and cars. The application process closes on January 29, 2023.

This five-week masterclass includes both online and in person sessions to take place in the Detroit headquarters of Detroit’s only HBCU, Pensole Lewis College. Because we are the creators of the culture, Pensole Lewis College is the keystone in the foundation of both sneaker and automotive design.

Automotive Sources of Inspiration

“Remember years ago, when we’d always come to the auto show?” says Dwayne Edwards, Founder of Pensole. “While we were at Jordan and Nike, we’d always come to the auto show in the cold in the middle of January, simply so we could see the latest and the greatest in automobiles. Because we knew that the future of designs; insights, color, materials and trim and stylings were always inspired by vehicles. They were always leading the way and was one of our greatest sources of inspiration.”

The culture of cars and kicks has always been high components of our culture and this masterclass marries the two in inspirational design. The team at Pensole is working to encapsulate that process in an educational forum.

Participation in the Masterclass does not guarantee eligibility or acceptance for an internship with GM. GM reserves the right to offer any internship at their sole and absolute discretion.
