Nuggets: The First Black-Owned Legacy Detroit Dispensary Opens
Introducing the first black-owned legacy Detroit marijuana dispensary. Now open and serving Detroit residents.
March 19, 2023 · Updated March 19, 2023
Nuggets Dispensary, the first black-owned legacy Detroit marijuana dispensary, has opened its doors to the public. The dispensary is located at 18270 Telegraph in Detroit and is owned by Louis Radden, a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of back and spine conditions.

The opening is a significant milestone for Detroit’s cannabis industry, as it sees Detroit’s ordinance bear fruit as it finally attempts to deliver opportunities to participate in the industry to those that have been disproportionately affected by marijuana prohibition and enforcement.
Many see it as a way to create economic opportunities for Detroiters and to provide access to recreational marijuana.
The opening of the dispensary is a step towards addressing the disparities faced by black-owned cannabis businesses in Detroit and provides a new opportunity to change how cannabis plays a role in the lives of Detroiters.
